Yabusame and horseback riding experienceMay.19,2025
Hello,
We offer some guided tours to the guests staying at the hotel.
Among the tours, we held new tour "Yabusame and horseback riding experience Tour" the other day.
I will introduce this new tour.
They are a couple traveling from America.
The husband secretly booked the tour, saying "We want to have a truly Japanese experience together!"
What a cool surprise♡
When you arrive at the shrine via our hotel shuttle, the instructor greeted them.
They changed into traditional Yabusame attire and headed to the main hall, while they were given an explanation of the proper etiquette for visiting a shrine.
They also enjoyed the experience of feeding and petting the sacred horses.
Both of them love horses, so they took their time interacting with each of the horses.
The riding grounds within the shrine grounds are home to several types of horses, including thoroughbreds and warmbloods, but for the Yabusame experience you will ride a Kiso horse, one of Japan's native horses.
First, practice with bow and arrow.
They both looked happy when they got it right♪
After that, horse riding lessons started.
The instructor gave them careful instruction and held the reins so they could feel at ease.
And finally, they experienced Yabusame that you shoot arrows at a target while riding a horse!!
Great! Hit the target!!
He had ridden a horse before, so this time he tried it on his own without an instructor.
They took a commemorative photo together.
After the Yabusame experience, they rode horses to the lunch spot.
It is OK to move around in the Yabusame costume, but they changed into their own clothes before lunch.
On the way to the lunch spot, they took photos of retro Showa-era shopping street.
They also seemed interested in "Japanese life," and enjoyed their horseback riding experience while asking various questions along the way about the cityscape, buildings, etc.
After lunch, they walked back to the shrine and finished the tour.
We were very happy that they were able to enjoy a valuable experience that they would not normally be able to have.
